716 Wing Index (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) is a community app for rating and reviewing chicken wings in Western New York. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create your account.
- Profile — a username, an optional neighborhood you select, and an optional profile photo you upload.
- Content you create — wing reviews (ratings, comments, tags), photos you upload, and deals you submit.
- Social actions — friends you add, and reviews you like or save.
- Reports — if you report content or block a user, we record that to keep the community safe.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification token — a device identifier used only to deliver notifications you’ve enabled (e.g., friend requests). You can disable notifications in your device settings.
- Basic technical data — standard information needed to operate the app and diagnose errors.
We do not collect your precise GPS location. Restaurant locations shown on the map come from our own dataset. Any “neighborhood” shown on your profile is one you choose yourself.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and profile.
- To display your reviews, photos, ratings, and deals to the community.
- To power social features (friends, likes, saves) and notifications you enable.
- To review reports, remove objectionable content, and enforce our Terms.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with providers that help us run the app:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and photo storage.
- Apple & Google — sign-in.
- Expo — app delivery and push notifications.
- Resend — operational email to our team (e.g., new-content and report alerts).
- Google Places — some restaurant photos and details.
Public content
Reviews, ratings, photos, deals, your username, neighborhood, and profile photo are visible to other users of the app. Please don’t share anything in these you wish to keep private.
Your choices & rights
- Delete your account — in the app, go to Profile → “Delete account.” This permanently removes your account and associated content.
- Edit or delete content — you can edit or delete your own reviews and photos in the app.
- Access or correction — email us at the address below to request a copy of your data or a correction.
- Notifications — turn off in your device settings at any time.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and content, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law or resolve disputes.
Age Rating
716 Wing Index is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. The app contains user-generated content and is intended for a mature audience.
Security
We use reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
